Cool Features That Clients Love
This time of year when the weather changes and cooler temps role in, I wonder if I can stop the expensive flea and tick prevention for my 4 dogs. I rarely see (if ever) a tick or flea on my dogs come October-March so why buy keep buying Frontline if I don't have to?
What Do The Experts Say?
The "rule of thumb" according to veterinarians is; the further North you are the less chance your dog or cat will need flea and tick prevention all year round. (if your pets do not travel to mild climates). However, here in Nebraska where our weather patterns are extremely variable, this is a harder question to answer. Ticks are hardy creatures and can live through a frost, or tips of grass protruding through the snow.
Local Nebraska vets claim that there are only 2 months out of the year that ticks and fleas don't pose a problem to our pets and state that these two months can vary depending on what type of winter we are having. I remember several years ago where the entire month of January I wore a sweatshirt and a vest to walk in (normally we walk in long coats, mittens, scarf, hat and snow boots).
So to put it simply, vets recommend flea and tick prevention all year round just to be safe. They state that the money you save not buying Frontline or whatever product of your choice may come back and bite you if you have to pay for treatment "after the fact:.
Is this a sales pitch? We would love to know your thoughts....do you buy flea and tick prevention all year long for your housebound hounds and kitty cats?
You are in need of a pet sitter for an upcoming trip. Your extended family is going with you and you don't want to inconvenience a friend or neighbor so you are scanning the internet for pet sitters to stay with your needy dog. The thought of your housebound hound staying home alone at night worries you, but having a stranger in your home makes you even more unsettled.
We Get It 100%! To trust a total stranger in your home alone with your fur kid is not an everyday occurrence and honestly if someone doesn't feel uneasy about letting a stranger in their home then they are a better person then I am. Trust must be earned and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Need More Information About Our Overnight Pet Sitting Service?
Several times a month I receive inquiries for dog walking from desperate pet parents who can't make it home during the lunch hour to get their dog walked. These pet parents however start the conversation by saying, "I don't need a dog walker every day of the week just when my spouse travels for work, can you help me?"
My answer 9 out of 10 times is "YES, of course we can!"
A good percentage of our dog walking clients only need us when their spouse has to travel out of the state for work, whether it's 2 times a week or 5 times a week for just one week out of the month, we can help.
